... i think the near future goal (and maybe the next achievable milestone too) is a set of robots and ressource containers shot to our Moon and/or Mars which will build bases with repair-bots, that sould be able to repair minor defects.
The ISS-guys already tinker with 3D-printers, but it will take a while until the'll start with electron-gun-fabbing.
In the first stages (as common now with the ISS) they will be resupplying the ISS and the bases with raw material, ressources and repair parts, but in the future ever more of the needed resupply should be done locally.
Imagine the ISS resupplying some of their needs by 'catching' the debris flying around, milling it to dust and laser- or electron-gun-sintering it to new parts ... or the bots on the moon sintering moon-dust
