Heating problem

Hi

I have build my own hot end, but I have a problem with the heating. It only heats up to 150 degrees, probably due to too much thermal conductivity.

The hot end uses a 6.8 resistor. I was wonderig if it will get hotter with a lower resistance like 5 Ohm? And can i use such a resistor on the Ramps electronics? Which is the maximum current allowed?

I use an ATX power supply.

Anyone who can answer these questions? Thanks a lot.

You should still be able to get a higher temperature than that.

Try:
-using more +12V and ground wires from the ATX P/S twisted and soldered together feeding more current to the electronics.
-loading the 5V portion of the P/S with a power resistor to draw more current from it.
-increase the size of the wires supplying current to the extruder resistor.
