Hotend wont turn off!!!
July 23, 2014 11:44AM
I recently built up a mini kossel and am in the process of commissioning it. I have the motors moving, but every time I send a command to the motors, the hotend will turn and keep heating up until it hits the max temp set in the firmware. I have tried multiple ramps boards and each has the same problem.

I am using Johan's Marlin modified for a delta printer, if that matters at all.

Things I have tried:

-different RAMPS board.
-replaced D10 MOSFET
-different arduino board
-different PSU
-different hotend (normally J-head, tried an E3D)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

What commands are you sending? Is it possible you are including a temperature setting in the command that would trigger the hotend? How about what software you are using?

I am new to 3D printing, but it almost sounds like a wiring issue. Are you sure everything is plugged in correctly? Does everything work as intended when the hotend isn't plugged in?

I am using the manual control arrows in Repetier-host. When I press one of the arrows to move the effector, the hotend starts to heat up until it reaches the limit set in the firmware.

Im pretty sure the wiring is right, but I'll post a pic to get a second opinion.

Here's a pic of my RAMPS wiring and endstop wiring.

The connection on the right of the endstops is the top connection on the RAMPS board.

Im pretty sure everything is connected correctly.

I've also attached my config.h file.
