Changing filament size
March 25, 2013 05:06AM
I have a portabee on order which has just been dispatched, so should only have to wait just under a week now.
They say on the website that it uses 3mm filament.
Does anyone know whether it would support 1.75mm too?
How difficult is it to change the filament size? Do I need to make modifications to the extruder?
Only asking because some websites seem to do a wider range of colours in 1.75 / only have the colours I want in 1.75.
Are there any benefits / drawbacks of the different size?
Cheers,

The Extruder and Nozzle would need to be modified/replaced for the smaller filament.

The main draw back to 3mm filament is it's harder to push through the smaller (.35mm or less) nozzles.

1.75mm works better there.
