Dear all,
Having finished my orca v02 and having calibrated it, I am now happily printing really nice objects. Building it has been really cool and using it cooler still. However, the only way I get reliable, high-quality results is by reducing print speed to 10 mm/s or less. Anything exceeding that results in nonsense (no filament where there should be etc.)
I am using a V9 extruder with a 0.25 mm hotend, feeding it with 1.75 mm PLA using a hotend temperature of 195 deg. C. The whole thing is controlled by a GEN6 board running Marlin. I use SLIC3R and Repetier.
Printing really large objects (such as another orca) will take weeks at this speed; can anyone give me some guidance on how to increase printing speed?
Or am I unrealistic in my expectations and is 10 mm/s already a good speed for my setup?
Thanks very much,
Thomas
