LOTS OF BUR ON PRINTS
March 10, 2014 04:46AM
Hello All,

I have tried printing the calibration files and the results were excellent, while went ahead for printing a model, and seems lots of BUR on the printed result.

Slicr latest version with Infill 0.4 and the speed at 60mm/s

Also it looks that when the printer hotend travels the other end or change positions, there is trail of plastic, which is causing the BUR. Attached image for better understanding.

Any suggestions to improve the printing quality.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Pingnagan P

Increase retraction speed and/or length. Do you use a bowden system?

I use Gantry system, and I believe the retraction speed increment is not helping, Im not sure whether I need a extruder calibration for better flow control.

If you haven't calibrated your extruder previously, then this definitely needs to be done. In the image it looks as if you are way over-extruding.

I had an issue like that, caused by my extruder being partially clogged. The back pressure would build up, and the hotend would just ooze all over the print. The other peice of this was very weak parts.

Things came in right when I could adjust the right Extrusion multiplier and as stated above, Happy printing now.
