Print get a crack at same position (PLA, not ABS)
July 03, 2015 11:20AM
Hello,
I'm trying to print some big model (the Corner of Cherry Pi Printer),
and I get a crack at the same place each time I try to print it.

I tried different layer heights, different temps (from 200 to 215 for PLA), print without a fan, with a fan, use higher bed temperatures (60-70).. nothing helps!
There is only one crack, some times it's a little crack, and sometimes it's a big crack, but it's always there, at the same place, and this crack is goes all the layer long, not in a corner.
I thought it might be the model, but netfabb said it's all good.
I measured the filament diameter at some positions, and entered the correct size in Cura.

I have a Rostock 3D printer, and I wasted almost a spool trying to figure out why this is happening.

It never happened before, and I think it's could be a printer related issue because it keeps happening at the same place, only in this model!

I would like to hear some suggestions,
Thank you!

This is what I'm gonna try tomorrow.. different slicer and get another spool to try, but because it happens at the same spot, it could be a slicer issue.
