PLA curls inside extruder.
February 10, 2016 06:09AM
Hey guys!
I have a problem with plastic extrusion.
I have a 1.75/3 mm extruder (upper part, with radiator), with inner coupling to 1.75 mm so basically i have a place, where plastic can curl.
And that exactly what it doing. -__-

I've already ordered 1.75 only extruder, but may be i do somthing wrong?

I print with PLA, 210 C, 0.4 mm nozzle (from china)

PS a pic, if someone interested.

That is the expected result if you use 1.75mm filament with a 3mm extruder. Nothing to do but switch to a 1.75mm extruder or to 3mm filament.

There should be some sort of tube to reduce the diameter of the exit for 1.75 mm filament- did you install it?
Post a picture of the extruder...

The only thing you can do it to get a teflon liner for 1.75mm that is a tight fit in your extruder.
Put it all the way through in one piece and cut out the opening for the bearing when done, not before.

PLA is quite stiff, so if the bolt and bearing are meant to transport 1.75mm you could release the drive, manually feed the filament through the entire extruder and then start.
I have to do this with some nylon types as they love to curl up in the most impossible areas.
