Using Software on a Network

Hi all,

Normally at work, all the 3D printing is done from a single machine but i would like to set it up so that anybody can slice and print. I have moved the software files to the network location and the software all runs correctly. However, the files that are kept in the 'appdata' folder are obviously different on every machine at the moment. I want to get the software to look towards a network location and save all the config files there so when anybody boots up the software they will get the same settings.

Thanks in advance for and help.

See "Managing Roaming User Data Deployment Guide" by Microsoft.

Also read the following:

Redirected AppData(Roaming) and Offline Files
Folder Redirection Overview
Folder redirection (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Hope this helps answer your question.

Are you talking about slic3r storing the profiles for infill, machine settings and things like that?

If so perhaps you could setup shortcuts to the commandline version and use that instead?

Or similar to this [replibot.blogspot.co.uk] ???
