Why I still have 0.72b on my desktop

Hi all,

First thing first, I like 0.9.9 but every now and then I have to go back to the trusty old 0.72b

This is one reason:

Making a filter!
(To put in front of a fan etc.)

It is very easy to create a filter in slic3r. All you do is to make a filter shape using your cad program.
Lets say 50x50mm and 3mm high solid block or just a circular shape.
In slicer, set top and bottom layers to 0 and infill to whatever you need, maybe 0.15 and choose honeycomb (I like honeycomb smiling smiley ).
Frame thickness is controlled by setting how many perimeters you want.
In 0.72b this works perfect as it looks like it does not put infill on first layer.
In 0.9.9 first layer has an infill (no big deal) BUT it is offset to the rest of the infills in layers above.

No matter what I do I can't get rid of it in 0.9.9 (or 0.9.10 dev)

Maybe it is me or maybe it is a bug.

Regardless, I do like slic3r and I take my hat off to the developer for the work that is being put into it.

Cheers
Jan

In the advanced section of Slic3r the First Layer Width and all infill percentages to the same number, I use 125% and then all the infills will line up.
