Strange Travel Moves on G-Code
June 03, 2015 04:51AM
Hey Guys

I have a problem with a gcode which was generated by Slic3r. Maybe somebody of you can have a short look to the gcode file? I'm wondering why there are this strange moves from one side of the part to the other and then back bevor the print goes on?

I had this allready with a similar part which was just a bit bigger. The point is: At the place where the hotend moves away and back I get a very uggly surface.

By the way: The Print is made with flexible filament....
I tried a repair of the stl file with [modelrepair.azurewebsites.net]

Has somebody an Idea what could cause this problem?

Hi Martin and all 2gether.

First, I have not an idea to solve the problem,
but I confirm that is a problem for me too.
(And possible my answer brings back to a higher position here (:-))

By the way - I begun with Slic3r 2 years befor now. Switch between KISS - CURA and some others,
come back to Slic3r since there is a own preview in.

And at the moment that version 1.2.7 brings for me the best results ever.
(Self made ((rebulild a X;Y,Z milling maschine)) printer.)

The unneccessary moves (prior on the first layer) are from time to time so
time consuming that the start on the next rope miss the first 2 mm.
So the base for the print is not stable an the rest of the print is on that position not clean.

If Alessandro and the team can fix that, for me Slic3r ist the best free printing software ever.

Nice printing
