Media activation separate from move

Media activation separate from move

I have a printer that behaves a bit differently from the standard. Instead of having E codes attached to the moves to control extrusion it has specific codes to activate and deactivate the media that are separate from the movement.

For example normally print moves and non print moves would be like

G XYZ E
G XYZ E

G XYZ
G XYZ

I would need something like

M media on
G XYZ
G XYZ

M media off
G XYZ
G XYZ

Is it possible to configure Slic3r to operate in this way?

I've used M42 ## codes for laser engraving/cutting. There are several Inkscape addons which would generate gcode that way.
They won't slice in 3D AFAIK.
