Upgraded to Repetier-Host V1.5.6, now CuraEngine not working

Yesterday I received an upgrade notice so I downloaded Repetier-Host V1.5.6 and installed it on my Linux machine (Linux Mint 17.2, 64-bit).

All seemed to be OK, but when I loaded a test cube STL file and attempted to slice this with the Cura engine nothing happened - R-H seemed to be trying to run Cura, but the progress bar didn't move. Eventually I had to kill the slicer.

My guess is that R-H is trying to start Cura, and failing - either it can't find it, or it's not starting properly. I tried to start R-H in a terminal window, but no error was reported.

I could do with some clues to help me diagnose this problem...

The host comes with 32 and 64 bit curaengine executables in plugins/CuraEngine. Make sur eit renamed the right one on configureFirst run (you did run it right?) and also make sure it has the executeable bit set.

I did run configureFirst.sh - but, just in case, is it safe to re-run it?

Should be run at user level in Linux, or as superuser?

You can rerun any time. Superuser is not required. It uses sudo to gain root privileges when required. Requires sudo to work!

Please redownload 1.5.6 - I have added a chmod to make it executable.

Which part did the chmod affect? I'd already changed configureFirst.sh to be executable...

No, I now chmod the curaengine executable.
