Yes it prints at around 245-250.
You can try heavy nylon fishing line, Penn do stuff that is luminous green for night fishing at about £4 for about 50 metres, it is thinner that 1.75 but will still go through an extruder, I put 3 strands together through my makerbot 2x, it worked ok.
Alternatively there is a company called www.3Dfilaprint.com that sell it for about £30 a reel.
