Slicing / printing weirdness (erroneous dimensions etc)

Hello,

Firstly, this may not be an Ormerod issue per se, but this is the machine I'm using... And I have the Ormerod Slic3r settings installed.

I've found that if I slice something in Slic3r 0.9 I can print this out OK, using the Printrun in the Software GitHub repository. However, if I try using a 1.x or GitHub/development version of Slic3r, everything looks OK until I load it up to print and at which point model looks a mess and has lines shooting way off the bed. See the attached screenshots.

I would stick with the old 0.9 version of Slic3r, but unfortunately this crashes when I try to print a new Prusa Mendel X-carriage (something about holes or not being manifold) for a broken machine.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Andrew

I have been using Cura with the ormerod plugins for a few days now and have found that in my experience the results have been better than when using slic3r.
Check out this thread for the plug-in for cura and the settings. I have the V2.4 running on Cura 14.01 in windows 7.
Have you passed the STL files through netfabb or another repair tool first?
