Heated bed errors

I wonder if someone could help? I have been getting intermittent heated bed errors on my Ormerod 2 (528.2). I have done all of the sensible checks (continuity, resistance, rewiring) but I have not managed to find the problem. Currently with the thermistor (one of several that I have tried) plugged in via separate leads gives a reading of 1094.1 °C. When I disconnect the thermistor I get a bed error - which when I clear it results in a gradually declining reading of the bed temperature - starting at ~110oC and gradually over a period of minutes works its way down to ~-10oC. Attaching an 8.2K resistor directly to the input on the board gives a reading of 1094.1 which then triggers an error. Is it likely that the Duet board has given-up?
My other Ormerod 2 (528.5) works flawlessly.....
Greetings,
Christof

If it's an Ormerod 2, check that the underside of the thermistor connector on the Duet isn't shorting against the metal enclosure.
