Suitable fan for part cooling using Ormerod 528.5 duct and Duet 0.6

Hi All,

Finally have my Ormerod 2 printing quite well, but unfortunately I got a 528.3 from RS and missed out on all the newer bits.
Looking to put on the part cooling fan and duct and wondering if a standard 12V 40mm fan will do? Also is it worthwhile getting one that can output a pulse per revolution on a seperate wire or will my Duet not be able to process this?
Any other suggestions about using the standard duct would be welcome too!

Thanks

I use this fan: [www.ebay.co.uk]

and use a 2N7000 mosfet wired like this:

Wiring is as follows
fan's black wire goes to the source on the mosfet
fan's red wire goes to the fan 0 positive connection on the duet board
fan's brown wire goes to the drain on the mosfet
mosfet's gate goes to the negative pin on the fan 0 connection
The mosfet's source conections go to a gound pin on the duet (it's the left pin above the hot end fan connection)
The set of pins is called J6

But since its a PWM fan it will never stop spining completely at 0% it will still spin at abaut 30% speed but it wont have any bad effect on pla ,you might have a problem with ABS though.

Awesome, thanks guys! Only printing PLA at the moment so I'll keep that in mind when I start doing some ABS.
