Calculating wall thickness for printing tubes

Calculating wall thickness for printing tubes

I am about to print a design that is basically a hollow cylinder and the wall thickness should be around 1.5mm-1.8mm.
I would like it to print it with 100% infill by only printing with perimeters in a circular motion.
If I set perimeter to say 5, then everything will be filled out this way as there is no space for regular infil.

How can I calculate the wall thickness that will equal a fixed number of perimeters.
Or in other terms, how do I know how thick each perimeter will be?

My hotend is a J-Head 0,35mm which I have set to 0,3 in Slic3r.

Slic3r puts a comment in the g-code that says how wide the filament is, or you can set it to a fixed value in the settings.

Thanks alot Nophead. That was easy. :-)

So is there any overlap, or anything else I should be aware of?

Yes, there is overlap. The most reliable approach is to slice and view and preferably also print a wall thickness test (this is a minimal one) and see which thickness works best with the given settings.

Thanks for the link and info.
I will give it a shot.
