Yes you can use a 1/4 inch pipe strap from the plumbing department at your local hardware store. My local ACE hardware only had copper so I used that. I found the the coupling nut was a little loose so I wrapped some electrical tape around it and it works fine.

The U Clamps shown in the McWire pictures seems to be the kind of bracket commonly used to attach a metal plumbing pipe or electrical metal tubing to a wooden beam. They are variously known as "pipe hanger", "pipe clamp", or "pipe strap". Look at plumbing suppliers.

Thanks for the help guys!

I managed to pick some up from a local tooling store for a total of 1 GBP!

25p each.

I also found them on sale at Wickes at twice the price in packs of two!

Now just need to wait for the laser cut stages!
