NorCalRepRap Aluminum Frame Kit vs Laser Cut
December 09, 2013 01:25PM
I was thinking of buying a Prusa i3 from NorCalRepRap, and noticed they have two kits: Aluminum and Laser Cut. The Aluminum frame is slightly more expensive. Is there a useful distiction between the two?

The aluminum frame has ..... an aluminum frame, and a bunch of printed parts. The laser cut kit has a plywood frame and mostly plastic parts. The laser cut is slightly more rigid than the aluminum frame. Both can be modified. The aluminum frame is slightly better for doing mods. Both can have stuff (electronics) mounted on them. The laser cut has slightly more room for mounting things.
