Wiring heated bed with Solid State Relay

Hi All

My prusa medel i3 heated bed takes about 40 minutes to heat up to 90C

I've installed isolation material at the bottom of the bed and replaced the old PSU to a 12V 30A power supply to try to speed up this heating time.

I've read some threads previously about wiring Solid State Relay to the heated bed that can speed up the heating time.

I've bought a fotek SSR relay from ebay but not sure how to wire it up

Do I need to change settings in the config.h for the SSR to work ?

Can someone who has done this before please share your experience

Thanks

I did a similar setup using an auto relay on my printrboard with a dedicated psu. What control board are you using? Ramps 1.4? If I remember right as it's been quite a while ago. I documented it on my website. I would have to search to make sure. I know if you do a google search you will find diagrams and other documentation on it. When I did mine documentation on the fotek ssr was easier to find.

Hey!
Which heatbed are you using? The MK2b Dual Power (http://reprap.org/wiki/PCB_Heatbed_MK2)?

I had that problem with mine, too.

You really need to connect the "pins" 3 and 2 together to ground and pin 1 to V+, then it heats up normally.
