hi i just built my prusa i3 printer and for some reason it stops before finishing the last layer...any ideas of what could be wrong??

Probably an error.

List your g.code so we can look at the last layers of code.

There may be a problem in your setup in your host program.
I would suggest repetier using slic3r.
