nozzle temperature never reaches target

nozzle temperature never reaches target

Hi all,

I run the M104 S200 command and the extruder nozzle only increases to 198 then falls back down and up and down but never actually reaches 200. This also means that I can't start prints because the first instruction is to heat the extruder nozzle.

It seems the extruder does not reach the desired temperature.

Anybody encountered this problem?

How long does it take to reach 198?

about 1 minute. if i set it to 210, it goes to 208C then gets out of "heating extruder" and goes into idle.

Did you enable PID tuning for the extruder ( nozzle ) and ran an autotunePID to get the right values?

Send "M303 E0 C8 S200" to start the autotune in pronterface, then write the result with "M301 H1 Pxx.x Ixx.x Dxx.x" into eeprom and save the values with "M500"

Thanks, that got better!

I found I had to actually increase Kp and risk more overshoot but it seemed to be fine in the end.
More details on what Kp , Ki, Kd are can be found here.
