Limit the speed..

Hello

I have a tinyboy printer. Works very well.

What I have found is that it only prints well if I run it a tuned speed of 60%.

Recently I have just added in an oled display, so I can run everything from the sdcard. I can 'tune' the speed down to 60%, but have to do this on EVERY PRINT!.

So... I am wondering if there is a magic setting somwhere in the configuration.h file that will allow me to limit the actual speed to always be 60%?

Any thoughts?

Take the normal printing speed in the gcode and run it at 60% of that value...

If you are slicing your own models, adjust the slicing parameters to use lower print speeds. Otherwise, open the gcode file in an editor such as Notepad++ and insert the line M220 P60 near the start.

Or add the M220 P60 GCode that dc42 mentioned in the starting GCode in your slicer and it will be added to all the files you slice.

Um, why not just slice them at a speed that works properly?

Ok. Found the fix!

You can set vmax x and vmax y in the motion settings.

What was confusing me is that I assumed you needed to set these in the configuration.h file!




All works great now.

I want them set in the printer as IMHO, while you can slice with the correct setting - the printer should always know better and ensure a good print!
