z axis moving too much

hi i recently finished building a 3d printer which uses ramps1.4 and when i started to print i realized that my z axis moves too much for each layer (about 5mm - 10mm high). I set the the first layer height and other layer heights to 0.4mm
the first layer is always fine but the others are not . I use a T8 lead screw and a 17hs1352-p4130 stepper motor for my z axis.

... adjust the steps per mm and speed for the Z-axis accordingly ... and if the movemen isn't consistent, then you have step missing -- so adjust the current too ...
