has any one connected an external mosfet board to their extruder setup?

Hi,

Trying to get around what seems like a bad ramps board and wondered if it is safe to do the above. I see a lot on doing this for the bed but not the extruder.

The one comment that I found was that it caused a lot of smoke, which I assumed ended badly.

thanks

... I was using industrial temp.-controllers with solid-state-relays or MOSFETs for driving heated beds and etruder heaters with 16 Volts AC from a "12V"-transformator.

Worked pretty good with a PT100 temperature sensor and controlling temps with up to 350 degC for the extruder smoking smiley
