Problems with my wanhao I3
September 10, 2015 07:28AM
Hello All

The story is:
Got printer yesterday (first ever)
Unboxed and followed instructions (done this 3 times+)

Printer will extrude when I manually lift the Z axis and then use the Extr. Position in the menu (on device)
Printer is NOT extruding when I try a print, tried at both 200 and 240 deg

Clear filament is also very often brown, making me think its burning?

Please please please help as I cannot use it like this

Hi,

Can you push the filament thru easily by hand when the temperature is around 200°C ?
Is the hotend cooled enough ?
Does the extruder motor runs fluently ?

The extruded filament is clearly means that it is overheated if it's brown, or heated for too long. Does the motor able to move during the process and it grinds on the filament?

The PLA filament is probably cooked inside, and will need cleaning out.

a friend of mine bought the same printer

it will start a print but quit extruding after a few minutes EVERY time.

everything was clean, fan blowing wide open, good filament

we replaced that worthless mk 10 with a mk8 and it prints perfectly now, EVERY print.
