Test print Help needed
May 02, 2010 12:55PM
Hi, Need someone to run a couple of test prints for me....tried to upload to thingverse it has "issues".

A: Two STL files Lens Cap per pic
B: Case Tube STL

1) Don't have a working RepRap
2) Not sure what STL output is exporting
3) NEED SOMEONE TO PRINT OUT & give measure, so I can update the design and put in the public the release!
Thx

meassure what?
If a printer is properly calibrated the printed model will match exactly the model.
Sizes, hole-diameters and everything.

LensCapCropped looks like it has a very small overhang of 90°. The maximum that is possible is 60°. Printers cannot print layers in mid-air.

Is test-case a massive, non-hollow cylinder? What needs to be tested in printing a cylinder?

Need to account for shrinkage etc.

The case should be more complex than that....several internal threads etc were designed into it and a couple of other tricks in the design.

This will be of the most help..[www.thingiverse.com]

Calibration accounts for shrinkage.
That´s why you calibrate the "strech"-settings
after you are done with "perimeter width over thickness".

Even so meassurements on a test-print are only
valid for that one printer, one material,
one environmental conditions, one version of
skeinforge and one skeinforge-profile.

smileys with beer Yes, we are on the same page with this. The test print design needs some adj then a release, followed by the final product.

Thanks thumbs up
