Still going for a few more days I think:by MattD - 3D Design tools
Just had confirmation that it is 3mm circular filament - still gobsmacked at the price. I asked about PLA and apparently they are looking into it, but don't stock it at present. Maybe if we show enough interest to make it worth their while... EDIT: actually prices aren't quite so unbelievable - it is actually £17.50 per kg, so for a 5kg coil that is £87.50+VAT. Still better than the other pricesby MattD - General
That's great work and incredible prices - I've been looking for a while, and that beats anything I've found by a mile! I assume that is for 3mm round section filament?by MattD - General
Just thought I'd share this in case anyone is interested - Alibre is currently offering Alibre Design Standard for $99, down from it's usual price of $999! It's a commercial product, so not free or open source (although there is a free version with a limit on parts per assembly), but I've been using the free version for about a year and have found it a pretty handy 3D CAD tool. @Lee I ordered direct from MCP and the motors arrived in about a week, no problems. Shipping was around £10 and that was for 3 motors. They all work fine, although I haven't finished the table yet to test them simultaneously under load. The table I'm building is relatively large and based on the JGRO plans listed on cnczone. I modified things a bit for metric, and enlarged slightly to cope withby MattD - Reprappers
I've got some of the AstroSyn NEMA 17s. They are nice motors but low torque, so not sure how suitable they'd be for moving the axes of a Darwin. Probably fine for extruders though, which is what I plan to use them for. I'm building a CNC router table/RepStrap, so wanted as much torque as I could get. I got a set of these 3Nm NEMA 23's: which seem to do the job nicely, but they are quite big! Aby MattD - Reprappers
