Hi Everyone - I just joined Western University in Canada -a top 1% global university and started the Free Appropriate Sustainable Technology (FAST) research group. We are interested in exploring the ways RepRap 3-D printing can drive distributed recycling and additive manufacturing (DRAM) (and maybe even social change). 3D printing filament is still sold for far more than plastic pellets and several companies offer filament makers that make decent filament from pellets. There has also been some efforts to make recyclebots, which can make filament from waste plastic that have always been challenging to use.
