What about the Kossel Pro that is currently on Kickstarer? It has auto bed leveling making it a lot easier get starting.... It also uses proper linear bearings that are super easy to install.by BertFromProtoneer - Delta Machines

Not sure if you seen this but on Kickstarter there is a Delta Printer that has automated bed detection and leveling http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ttstam/openbeam-kossel-pro-a-new-type-of-3d-printer/posts Not a lot of days left in the campaign if you were interested.by BertFromProtoneer - Delta Machines
Hi Everyone.... A friend of mine, Terence Tam from OpenBeamUSA.com has launched a Kickstarter campaign for his teams new Kossel Pro Delta 3d Printer. The idea behind the project is to produce a printer that is cheaper to mass produce and easier to construct. One of the team members is also the original designer of the original Rostock and Kossel. They have made huge contributions to the maby BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group

I will be there... Might be able to organize a Openbeam Mendel Max.by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I will also be there doing some volunteer work and will have some Openbeam machines there. All depends on time... So when are we having a Wellington meeting? We can always meet at http://www.meetup.com/WellingtonMakers/by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi there, I might be able to help. Send me a PM. Regards, Bert.by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks for everyone's replies on this topic. bobc Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thus, “free software” is a matter of liberty, > not price. Hi everyone, I was talking to my friend Terence form Openbeamusa.com about some Delta printer designs the other day and he raised an interesting topic. Terence shares the same maker-space with Johann that created the original Rostock 3D Printer. Johann did an amazing job with software side of the printer and gave us the modified version of Merlin that works with all of these Delta Printers todayby BertFromProtoneer - General
Wired1 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ...plus the LCD panel to arrive from Royco > Kickstarter... Simon you do have an eye for beauty!!! Start with just the plastics I would say. As you add more features update the design. The people that buy the first designs can always print the upgrade parts them self's or modify it to work with there needs. Thaby BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Good old sanding works for me... I start out with a low grid and work my way up to about 1000 grid(Wet sanding also helps a lot.). The parts will turn white with from the plastic dust but that can be solved by using a heat gun set at 200+ degree's or so. Run the heat over the part for only a few seconds because if you do it to long it will melt/deform the part. The heat works like magic. I haveby BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Looking good!!! Was that CNC cut or by hand? If you did it by hand I must complement you on your skill... waitaki Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi Guys, > I've attached a couple of pics of > where I'm at with the build currently. Thanks for that.... By the way your extrusions are on their way. oatridge Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I have uploaded the Y motor mount to the cloud for > correction. I totally agree on the cable thing. Nothing looks as bad as a badly wired machine. But one needs to consider that the machine will move and that the wires have maximum angles they can bend. I have had only one issue with my Printer and it was to do with the heated beds wires that broke after bending to much in one direction. Keep us up to date with your build.by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Very interesting concept... I found a really great working example. Linkby BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Just to keep you up to date... I now have the black extrusions in stock. Happy Building!!!by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Good stuff... I take it you will be using T5 belts with the machine? If so how do you find the belts? There has been lots of discussions on what belts are better. Secondly, how good does the printed pulleys work? I am sure that will have an effect on the performance of the belts... Thats a lovely looking machine!!! I am sure my coffee table would be more than happy with 3d Printing capabilities.. Good work!by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi there, I might be able to help you with the extrusions. Have a look at my thread on Openbeam I would be very interested in seeing a Rostock being built with it. Also have a talk with Josh from . I am helping him with his Rostock build. He is very talented maker!!! mikep-nz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm building a Rostock here in West Auckland. >by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Yes.. there was one on thingiverse the other day. It will have to be heated or it will get stuck. Anything is possible...by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I have a UP! Plus 3d printer and it has an adjustable vent close to the printing head. I have noted that when I print PLA its better to have the vent open so that the cold air is blown onto the printed part. With ABS it has been a total different game. If I keep the vent open it tends to cool the ABS down to quick and I end up with lots of warping in the parts. PLA is so much nicer to print wiby BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
We have an apiary and I have played around with bee's wax for a while. To soften wax you add oil to it(Lip balm) and to harden it you add stearine to it(Machine wax). The stearine hardens the wax and increases the melting point of the wax. I think it will be doable but one thing to consider would be how to feed the printing head.by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Nope... I tried a 650mm length and it was as tough as can be. I think its the edge design makes it so sturdy. Dust Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Could a person bend one?by BertFromProtoneer - New Zealand RepRap User Group
