Hi Tim, Sorry for late reply! Congratulations on getting your 150 masks done! I seem to remember that the original Duet pcb /PSU combination was quite noisy( lots of high level spikes,) so maybe the Mosfet used to turn on the heater has failed under the trress. I know there is a schematic and a layout of the Duet PCB somewhere. This I think is it: If not have a look around: Requires Kicaby kwikius - Ormerod
Hi All, Long time since I was here. My Old Ormerod has been working well for the last few years( just prototyping mainly rather than day in day out), though I havent followed most of the upgrades, still using Pronterface! (though I did upgrade to dc42's firmware, since it does curves much more elegantly). One day I will get around to upgrading everything, but meanwhile I decided to try helpingby kwikius - Ormerod
Wow. The movement algorithm sounds great! (Do I dare to try it though though.. I've been out of the loop for a bit so now sure what mods I need to make.) Anyway this sounds like a great step forward for the Duet! regards Andyby kwikius - Ormerod
Quotedc42 After a diversion to do real (paid) work, I've managed to spend time on this again. I spent many hours battling with Atmel Studio and ASF, which don't properly support C++ even with exceptions and RTTI disabled. Now I know why the Arduino core for the Duet is such a mess. I finally managed to port the code from the Arduino Leonardo to the ATSAM3S4B and upload it via bossac. A tip forby kwikius - Ormerod
QuoteTochannn Hi everyone! I have been using a RepRapPro Ormerod for two months now. And I just found this design of Universal Paste Extruder online: . I am really interested in printing this design to do some paste printing. But this extruder is designed for a Quick-Fit X carriage for Mendel. I was wondering if there is a way to fit this universal paste extruder on an Ormerod? Thank you veryby kwikius - Ormerod
Quotejstck Since it still has to contain the same information (to be convertable back and forth), I don't really see how any other representation of it could be "better" than just a nicely commented section of G-code. Better in the sense of comprehensible. At the simplest level DebugOff() ; versus ?.... ( answer at end!) ResetAxisCompensation(); versus ? ( answer at end!) My hunch is thaby kwikius - Ormerod
This low level Gcode stuff is not great. Reminds me of assembly language. Has anyone tried making a higher level language that can be converted to and from GCode? I'm sure something like that would make life much simpler! regards Andyby kwikius - Ormerod
Sorry for all the questions! Looks like it'll be a very nice addition. I'd better let you get on with it regards Andyby kwikius - Ormerod
Not getting the increased cost of the 64 pin version? Its only 7 p or so on Farnell SAM3S1A SAM3S1B comparison Extra board space cant be significant since you would use more for a latch surely? regards Andyby kwikius - Ormerod
I believe the buzzer is in. Was part of the original spec regards Andyby kwikius - Ormerod

Quotejstck Would it be possible to have a few extra pin headers or pads on the pcb for "leftover" inputs/output pins on the processor, for future expansions? Just for the possibility of later adding stuff like buttons, swiches, LED:s or buzzers. Ideal would be a pin header for a a few (3 or so) input pins with onboard pullup/pulldown resistors for easily wiring up hard-buttons, and solder pads stby kwikius - Ormerod

Quotedc42 Quotekwikius One issue to be aware of is that 32 bit processors may not use ROM as efficiently for code as 8 bit. However if its rom data such as Font tables then I guess its not a problem.. regards Andy True. However, nearly all the variables I am using need to be at least 16 bits, and on the 8-bit atmega architecture that I have been using, this results in lots of extra machine insby kwikius - Ormerod

EDIT Scratch that I re-read post!Programming firmware requiring a programmer is the only issue. STM32 has built in bootlaoder, can be programmed via serial port stm32flash or debugger (Win) ST-Link or (linux) texane/stlink No hardware programmer required I had a quick look at ATSAM datasheets but cant see whether similar is possible. For programming gcc and make would be my choice ( Afterby kwikius - Ormerod
Quotedc42 Andy, thanks! I will switch to the larger font now that you have provided that program. No problem. It was a good break from other stuff TBH. BTW found a couple of bugs so now in place replaced the attachment with V2 Now send me your issues regards Andyby kwikius - Ormerod

Quotedc42 Thanks Andy, it isn't urgent because I'm still working with the small font and there is enough spare memory for now. In 2 weeks from now, I might need it. Hi DC, basic source as I understand it... Quotedc42 Thanks Paul, it's looking good! If any programmers reading this feel like contributing towards getting this project finished, there is a script that you might like to write. I suspect that it would be very easy to do in awk, but I haven't used awk for several years and I have forgotten how to use it. It could also be done in Python, Java or just about anything else. Quotedmould I have not tried that carbon fibre filament, but I did try some conductive filament once, which I assume has carbon granules added to it. Like the description of the fibre filament, it is more brittle than the normal filaments. I found that it also has a problem with low layer adhesion. Quotedc42 [...] Also, will the M6 screws self-tap into it as they did for the extrusions supplied by RRP, or do you think I should order it tapped? Probably cheaper and easier to just get a tap and die set. To use just screw in 180 degrees, break back 90 degrees and repeat until done. Once you have a basic set you can upgrade it with better quality taps of different tolerances regards Andyby kwikius - Ormerod
