Does not work for me. The Slic3r official site states in the instruction for Linux: Extract the archive to a folder of your choosing. Either: Start Slic3r directly by running the Slic3r executable, found in the bin directory, or Install Slic3r by running the do-install executable, also found in the bin folder. The archive file may then be deleted. When I attempt to rby cliffgi - Slic3r
If this has been a problem for 2 or more years, I guess I shouldn't hold my breath. Looks like more and more systems will become incompatible as folks upgrade their linux OS. I have not found any developer contact or feedback mechanism... never a good sign. Bummer! Any recommendations on good slic3r alternatives?by cliffgi - Slic3r
Apparently I'm not able to down grade to wxWidgets 2.8. If it is possible, I don't know how to override Synaptic or apt-get defaults. Synaptic does not show as an available package, and apt-get fails with a package not found notice. I assume packages are filtered by OS version to ensure platform stability.by cliffgi - Slic3r
Bleeding edge Linus Mint 18 beta was released last week. Slic3r (v1.2.9) needs a prerequisite package libwxgtk2.8-dev, among others. All libwxgtk packages were upgraded to v3.0 in Mint 18. As a result, there does not appear to be any method for installing and running slic3r on Linux Mint 18. If this be true, it would really draw in some serious air. Any thoughts out there?by cliffgi - General

Thanks for the .deb files, The python3 did the trick for me. Very new to python and did not understand the line "svn co pyserial" posted by others previously in this thread. All else is obvious. If someone has the time... I am curious what it means and how to accomplish... future reference. thanksby cliffgi - General
