Swings and roundabouts by the sounds of things, as I haven't used Marlin yet (I bought the printer second hand) and I have no idea how to connect/update. ...on the other hand, swapping wires around doesn't sound ideal either. I think the Marlin route is safer, but can anyone point me in the direction of some instructions please? Sorry...still very new to this!by m3gtr - Reprappers
ok, my motors have four wires to the plug on the board (printrboard) in order.... blue/red/green/black. They can't be turned on the board due to the plug design, but I guess I could remove the pins and re-order them. Presumably I swap to be green/red/blue/black?by m3gtr - Reprappers

Newbie alert question again! I just realised my prints are a mirror image of the part as it is displayed on the screen in Cura. I print directly from Cura. Without messing with what the part looks like on the screen, how do I change it to print correctly? I'm using a Prusa i3 Thanksby m3gtr - Reprappers
Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll have a play! I haven't really delved into slic3r at all yet as I've been printing from Cura after downloading the stl files from thingiverse. @3dKarma - The printer I bought (2nd hand) looks like a Prusa but the extruder is mounted at 90 degrees to the one pictured on your website. I assume its either been upgraded (or made worse with a bad upgrade?) at somby m3gtr - Reprappers
Can anyone provide some ideas as to why this is happening? The print is ok until it gets to the ears. I'm guessing it is something to do with it going too fast and applying too much heat? ...only my third day printing so apologies if it is a daft question!by m3gtr - Reprappers
Hey everyone... just started 3D printing a couple of days ago after getting hold of a Prusa i3 Mendel and it is great. I've managed about a 60% hit rate so far on things I've printed from Thingiverse and they are 'ok' to use. Question though. The guy I bought it off fitted a printed ducted fan that points at the print and I wanted to understand what this achieves, since it also has a heated beby m3gtr - General
