>Thanks everyone, That's great info - I'll do some more research. I'm trying to get a copper / tin coating so it's conductive Sorry if you already know this, but there is one thing you might want to be aware of if you are doing copper plating to make circuits etc on the printed part. Impurities in the plating will dramatically increase the resistance of the trace. At the very least you will pby Cynic - General

Mathematicians have a concept called a Erdős number which describes how close a particlar mathematician is to the great mathematician Paul Erdős. Perhaps we could have a similar one for a reprap machine which describes the generational distance back to the original Darwin. Hey, we could call it a "Bowyer number" :-) ### from the wikipedia article The Erdős number describes the "collaborative diby Cynic - General
Hi Johnrpm Sorry, did not reply to your message because I only just now noticed the original post had been edited with a reply. I was looking a the new posts count and did not re-open the thread. >P.S Designspark looks good, its by RS componants, not open source, I wonder if its free long term?. I must say I really like the DesignSpark user interface - very easy to use, however as you say,by Cynic - General
Just a note to say Version 01.00 of Line Grinder is now out. Major changes - Added support for more Gerber code types - The user is now prompted to create a File Manager if one does not exist. - The requirement for defined reference pin pads on the PCB is now optional. If you were getting "No reference pins could be found on the PCB" messages with the last version you now have the optiby Cynic - General
Hello All After lurking on this forum for some time I now have something to contribute which may be of interest to the RepRap community. The Line Grinder software takes the Gerber.files output by most PCB design software and can create PCB isolation milling GCode from it. Line Grinder runs on Windows boxes and is both free and open source. Written in C# v2008. http://www.OfItselfSo.com/LineGrby Cynic - General
Hi Charles Good of you to post to let us know your contact details and to let us know you are interested in suggestions. Looking back on my original postby Cynic - RepRap Host
Hi All Just thought I would say hello, introduce myself and post a topic which may be of interest to the reprap community. I'm a longtime lurker on the forum and am in the process of building a repstrap. I'll post more on that when it is a bit further along. There is a new freebie Google Sketchup to STL file converter plugin from CADSpan might be of interest to the readers here. I did a searcby Cynic - RepRap Host
