Quotegforce1 The alu profiles are 20x20 mm. The total dimension of the cube is 400x400x400 mm This is correct, but it means the horizontal profiles are 360 mm long and the vertical 400 mm Maybe it is a good idea to have a look at the assembly file: RepRap-XY.step in the step folder in github:by jand - CoreXY Machines
I don't think you have a software problem. This looks like backlash as your circles are not round. This also gives the effect of your infill not reaching the edges of the holes you should check: Tension of the belts Pulleys tight to the motor shafts.

Quotepeterv3210 I modified the belt-clamp because I was struggling to get the belt tensioned without slipping out of the belt-clamps, now it cannot slip anymore. Nice, It also makes it possible to add some spare belt, for just in case. Although it does not work if you already cut your belt to size. Do you want me to add it to the github?by jand - CoreXY Machines
@Doug I did not do a real speed test to figure out the max speed. I normally print at 60 to 80 mm/s. I once did a test at 100 mm/s which gives acceptable results as you can see in this video You can see some images of the result of this test here: I guess the max speed will be around 120 mm/s in this configuration, that is with a gregs extruder on the carriage. When you use a bowden system itby jand - CoreXY Machines
@gforce1 Like Zelogik mentioned the motor blocks and idler blocks are fixed to the aluminium profiles. Only the smooth rods are not fixated by a screw. It is just a tight fit.(at least in the plastic parts, not sure about the alu parts) It will not move. You can't rotate / slide the rod by hand. I don't know if it is strong enough in the long term. Up-to now I printed about 2Kg of ABS with my pby jand - CoreXY Machines
Thanks, esponda. I know i should make documentation complete. This is probably the most difficult part. BUT the most usefull to others.by jand - CoreXY Machines
In the middle of the sheet (Column Q) you see for instance 'Motor-block' (Q5) the number in the next column (R5) in the number of motor-blocks you need in the printer. (Two in this case) When you want to know how many T-nuts you need for one motor block look at the left column (B5) so 4 nuts per motor-block. The number at the right (C5) gives the total number of T-nuts for the two motor-blocks.by jand - CoreXY Machines
Quote3DRapidClone None that I can see. Do you have a list of which printed parts use which size screw? Or is it just trial and error? Have a look in the second sheet in BOM.ods (M3 and M4) Which is the source for the numbers in the first sheet. It shows the number of screws/nuts/washers per part. This makes the trial and error a bit smallerby jand - CoreXY Machines
Quote3DRapidClone Close. So I could reason that if I increased the leadscrew by 50mm and the aluminum extrusions that it too would increase Z by 50mm? I was looking at your BOM and there are a few numbers that are off as seen here: Correct, to get 50mm more in Z you need to increase the 400mm extrusions and the leadscrew by 50 mm. You also have to increase the Z smooth bars by 50mm, or you addby jand - CoreXY Machines
Quote3DRapidClone Hey Jand, what is the Printer Volume of your printer? 220x200x? Almost, I get 210x215x165 mm (XYZ)by jand - CoreXY Machines
@doug if you made the parts in FreeCAD (or something else that can make STEP files) I can try in CAD if it will fit.by jand - CoreXY Machines
@Doug redesigning for ML16UU bearings is not so easy. Just making the holes bigger will not work, because there is not enough plastic to hold the bearings and the rods, So the motor-block, motor-block-top, idler-block, idler-block-top, XY-block and XY-block-top have to be changed and everything has to be carefully aligned again. This is a lot of work. Also because FreeCAD is not very helpful hereby jand - CoreXY Machines
@sammy66 that is the same size a my printer. Nice to see another build, keep us updated. The 20mm is actually an error. This was mend for 40mm extrusions. So 10mm should be the size to use. Hope you have better luck with your LM12UU bearings. Mine were send twice and returned to sender for some reason. After that we agreed to cancel the order, and I had to order them somewhere else. This time itby jand - CoreXY Machines
This is great , I come back from hollidays and see a few people building printers. Keep up the good work @Conoral11: Maybe look around in the Ingentis and Eustathios Builders Community. (Google+ group) You may get some Ideas for a Z-Axis there. I think Ingentis has belt Z-axis. @sdavi Nice Vertical X-axis you made , What X and Y ranges do you get with it?
