They'll be fine, they might run a little hot, since you're going to be running close to their rated power. On this note, make sure not to turn up your Polulus too much - from the numbers, can fry these motors before the current limiting takes effect - especially if you were to have heatsinks on the Polulus.by tprime - General
There's also a 'bolt' like hypena in his web shop for the typical Greg's derived extruders. They supposedly grip much stronger than a simple hobbled bolt. Not sure how they compare to a MK7. There are claims though that the v2 hyena grips 220% stronger than the v1 (on blog.arcol.hu). Mine should arrive today .by tprime - Plastic Extruder Working Group

Die habe ja sogar extra Luftlöcher.by tprime - Neue Ideen - Archiv
I've managed to salvage the newer one (with the set screw) by drilling it out a couple of mm, thereby shortening the length of the channel. Quite a bit of plastic swell (0.35 ->0.5mm) now, but at least it seems to be extruding decently when printing at 60mm/s (knock on wood ).by tprime - General

I haven't talked to Peter yet - last event was that my Greg's extruder developed a lot of play in it's clamp - probably due to needing way to much force to push the filament out...by tprime - General

I remember seeing a formular somewhere (here? Hydraraptor?) that showed the dependency between nozzle diameter, length and the required extrusion force. I seem to remember that' it's a fourth power law on the diameter, and it has even had a name ('somebody's law'), but I can't find it anymore - my google foo seems to be lacking today. Does anybody have the formula or a link for me? Thanks! Sby tprime - General

My replacement arrived. It now has a set screw, it does not show the red thermal glue seen in some photos - and it still requires way too much force to extrude. As for the 1.75 conversion, apperantly there is no second set screw, but simply a longer piece of inner tubing. I don't quite see how that's supposed to work.by tprime - General
You can print without a spool - just untangle a few meters (your slicer will tell you how many you need) and watch it during the printing of your spool parts. Or you could go for one of the cardboard based spools out thereby tprime - General
I mean the metal legs of the resistor. They shouldn't be touching the metal block. Or do you have a heat cartridge instead?by tprime - General
Sounds like a foobared ADC->Temperature table . Or possibly, noise/crosstalk from turning the resistor of and on again - do you have the heater's legs isolated from the heat block?by tprime - General
Keine Ahnung ob das was wird.by tprime - Neue Ideen - Archiv
@Rich: Sorry to hear that you're having trouble returning them. He hasn't much choice under EU consumer protection laws though. Magic words seem to be 'right of complaint', 'not as advertised' and (and fixing a time limit). The extrusion hole being too long might be the issue - can't measure mine any more . I guess it could be salvageable by increasing the drill depth on the other side. I also pby tprime - General
@Rich: Reprap.me has offered to replace the j-head for one with the set screw, presumably because the ebay auction claimed it had one and I pointed this out under the danish 'right of complaint' law. I'm still not certain what's actually wrong with the first one if you clamp the teflon liner externally. Perhaps it's cut too short for that. The PTFE liner on the alternative design looks awfullyby tprime - General
Yes indeed, it was sold as a MK IV (no , and even listed a hollow set-screw. Unfortunately, I didn't catch on to that right away, since none of the pictures on the wiki show the top of the J-head. I presume it's a combination of this thing not having the ridge for the line to sit on (the 'melt chamber') nor a set screw. I keep it in place with a small aluminum plate, but that's a way worse solby tprime - General
