Mutley3d suggested this was over extrusion which, in fact, it did turn out to be. I reduce the esteps by 10% from 648 to 584 at his suggestion and reduced the first layer height from .4 to .3 which in general produced a very nice print which surprised me as my extrusion was spot on as far as mm in/mm out. I still have some adhesion issues which may or may not be due to problems with the Autoby MightyMouth - Printing
First layer problem printing ABS Top Bottom I tried various temperatures between 230c and 260c but the prints show the same problem. My bed is set to 120c but is actually around 100c. I tried increasing the extrusion to between 102% and 105‰. My printer is in a heated enclosure @ 28c.by MightyMouth - Printing
I have had a hour to mess around with the printer and try to figure out what is happening. I am none the wiser but it seems that homing the printer is what throws the settings out. If I use a piece of paper to set the z height to .08 then check the trigger height multiple times it the trigger height stays within .01 but if I home the printer then check the trigger height the trigger height raisesby MightyMouth - General
I'm not sure how the nozzle would cause these readings as the trigger height is decreasing when hot meaning the carriages are closer to the bed whereas if the nozzle was expanding and somehow putting the sensor closer to the bed it would trigger while the carriages were further away showing a higher trigger height unless I am completely thinking backwards. I usually print at 230c but the ABS Iby MightyMouth - General
I just recieved and installed my Printbite surface. I attached it to my Glass as per the installation PDF and started calibrating as I am using DC42's IR sensor and suspected it would trigger differently. So I got is all dialled in, ran a test print and the ABS didn't stick at all, just wound up in a nest stuck to the nozzle. My Bed was at 120c verified by laser thermometer and my nozzle at 210by MightyMouth - General
Thanks all, I will have a proper look at these when I get home.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
I have a large Kossel from Think3dprint3d which has been working fine but recently the extruder gear started skipping in one spot, it was only very occationally to start and didn't effect the prints but has now gotten to the point I need to replace it. It is basically the standard Extruder for their mini Kossel I have asked them for a price for the gears to fix the issue but I want to replaceby MightyMouth - Delta Machines

Hey guys sorry for the late reply I am on holiday in the US for Christmas so haven't been actively monitoring the forums. Thanks for the replies, I will check out the suggestions when I get back home.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Now that I have my printer working thanks to a lot of help from DC42 and others I would like to really optimize it as far as accuracy and speed are concerned. Has anyone done a good idiots guide explaining how to do this? Currently I can get good prints as slow speed but I would like to find the printers ideal configuration.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Ok thanks I didn't forget to reboot the Duet, I just didn't know I didn't have toby MightyMouth - Delta Machines
OK so I increased the probe trigger height from .95 to 1.0 but now it seems to not stick at all as if it is starting higher than before.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
After auto calibration it says Calibrated 6 factors using 10 points, deviation before 1.113 after 0.122 then I did it again and it said Calibrated 6 factors using 10 points, deviation before 0.081 after 0.066 and the third time Calibrated 6 factors using 10 points, deviation before 0.057 after 0.056.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
HI DC42, could you explain the T0 command a bit more? Do I need to add it to the G-Code and if so do I just add it to the top of the Start G-Code in Slic3r? I already have M109 S ; Wait for hot end to reach temperature in the Start G-Code, has this changed from S to T or am I getting it completely wrong?by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Thanks guys, I check that stuff tonight when I get home. I'll post the deviation then also.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
ok second print succeeded and looks great but is not perfectly square, the sides are all 30.12 again but top to bottom it is 29.88 and the bottom is still a bit messy and thin and has a few tiny holes in it. so how to I get it the right size and get the bottom printing better?by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
I have set up slicer this way but have noticed that my hotend isnt being turned on by the gcode though the bed is.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
QuoteLarsK Actually it looks like the cube is leaning outwards? What is the dimensions at bottom versus top? Think that is just an optical illusion or the picture angle, the sides are all the same at just about 30.12 +-.02 all the way up.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Quotedc42 Did you set the motor current back to a normal value after initial commissioning? If T3P3 is still shipping motors with 1.68A current rating, then I suggest 1000mA for the towers. The extruder may not need as much. I left the extruder at 500 but I will increase it to 1000 and see how it goes. How would that cause this issue? Ok so started my first test print of a 30mm hollow box and it seemed to be going ok, the first layer wasn't great, a few gaps but the walls seemed to be doing really well, the sides were super smooth and appeared to be straight but then on about layer 70 of 100 the print head started raising too high and was visibly a mm or more above the print so just started getting strings. I have no idea whaby MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Thanks. There seems to be quite a lot of noise from something while moving and some resonance from something, possibly the belts. I am ready to print something but I don't really no how to configure slicer and no config file was supplied with the beta kit. Video of the printer calibrating.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Thanks again, all seems to be working fine. I don't suppose you could post your slic3r ini file?by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
ok so after 4 runs it settled down so I ran M665 and M666 which came back Diagonal 350.00, delta radius 178.05, homed height 495.90, bed radius 140.0, X 0.15°, Y 0.12°, Z 0.00° Endstop adjustments X-0.28 Y0.44 Z-0.17 I don't know what to do with the X 0.15°, Y 0.12°, Z 0.00° after the bed radius. Also these are the numbers when cold, should I use these or the numbers after the hot run.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
ok thanks, so using that method I am getting 0.95 as the trigger height which is the same as if I move the head down .05 increments until the led comes on.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
OK so I don't have an H or T parameter beside M558, I assume I just add them to override defaults? Mine looks like M558 P1 X0 Y0 Z0 Should I make it look like M558 P1 X0 Y0 Z0 H25 T500 ? Also where you say "G31 Z parameter - measure the IR sensor trigger height (between nozzle and bed) at bed centre and use that" is that with or without the copy paper in place?by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Ah great thanks, I thought you had to do the macros to get close before using the auto calibration.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Thanks DC42, I worked it out in the end, I just confused myself reading modulated and un-modulated. I am at 1605.4 Check Z-probe offsets at 4 points in the Mini documentation because the docs for the XL (or Maxi as it is to be called) aren't complete yet but I don't have the macros listed there. I have E motors off Origin X-tower Y-tower Z-10u Z-tower Z+10u Where do I get the correct macrosby MightyMouth - Delta Machines
OK So my printer is now powered on and I can access the web interface. I have homed the axes successfully and have been reading DC42's blog post Upgrading the Mini Kossel to Duet Electronics Part 4: the Z probe but am confused what M558 parameter I should be using. My kit comes with David's IR Probe so do I use P1 or P2? My config is currently set to M558 P1 X0 Y0 Z0 which was configure by t3p3 aby MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Thanks for the tips, I will be sure to do all of those things before I power it on.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
Ok so I have pretty much completed my build, I am kind of scared to power it up for fear of frying something. I have double checked all the connections but I am still hesitant.by MightyMouth - Delta Machines
