Arh, yes.. Those lovely Nema 17 Sanyo pancakes of only 70 grams. Way too expensive indeed. I was planning on using a less expensive nema17 pancake with a 13/44 gear-reduction (not a heavy planetary, but just two gears, one metal, one plastic). Probable MOD1 or MOD.8 or something like that. I'm currenty working on it, using a MOD1 13t pinion with a 44t gear of an HPI savage. It's fair easy to makby to3dornottobe - General
I did get frustrated/angry with SBASE. Seller is probably as stubborn as I am, though i am capable of admitting my own flaws, squeaks, beeps quirks and errors.. He refused to offer help. (other than the option to solder the parts in myself). It took a a negative review before he admitted he was wrong. Too bad it had to come that far. @Arthurwolf; To what email can i donate a contribution for uby to3dornottobe - Controllers
An update on the support of sbase (i bought the board directly from sbase) Sbase isn't in in for the service. I suggested them to make the change in regards to the LAN adapter, pointing to the findings of w3drk, and the error the lan enablement causes. they do feel responsible to change the boards, but won't ship a new one. (i'm lucky if i could buy a new one, so it seems) I think that's just wrby to3dornottobe - Controllers
That's a handy feature for those larger, filament lurking monsters. Btw, It wasn't my intention to burn down the duet or its firmware. I actually had one in my shopping basket for quite some time. I just happened to prefer the features of smoothieware, and octoprint, from a, for me, inuitive pov.by to3dornottobe - Controllers
Curious to know if you are able to upload anything to the sbase with the use of octofab. You need to edit the index.html in order to have the folders changed. It won't save anything on my board, must be a user-rights thingy, Those endstops on the extruder motors can be used for an 'out of filament' pause?by to3dornottobe - Controllers
Did you get a change to run octofab on the sbase W3drk?by to3dornottobe - Controllers
Plugin support Drag and drop support for gcode files More convenient ui Easier on the eye cam integration Api support for slic3r, among others Broader support for more printers (considering the plans i have, i do like a generic ui) User rights assignable features I've considered the duet, but it didn't do it for me. If you like to discuss this further, please contact me by pm in order to keepby to3dornottobe - Controllers
Granted, the octoprint webinterface doesn't load too fast on the sbase-board, but it might have got something to do with the SD cards speed between NIC and the SD card, i don't know.; it seems to be rather slow while loading, but once loaded it's fast. Transferring files to it is slow too (before the error arrises) That camera might sound nice, but i never took the time to use it on my other priby to3dornottobe - Controllers
That duet webinterface is ok, but nothing more; I prefer the octoprint interface, because of the nice(r) features. (api for directly uploading gcode to the printer using slic3r), and the drag and drop feature is also nice; it enables you to use plugins to directly upload STL files and slice them using the build in Cura engine. Don't know what makes you say the duet interface rocks even more? I'dby to3dornottobe - Controllers
@w3drk! THANKS! it works! I just got home after a good run, soldered the capacitors and crystal in place and it worked immediately. (not using the resistor) Octopi isn't capable of remembering any of the changes, so i'm unable to change the storage folders Arthur created. (they are still directing to /home/arthur/.octoprint/uploads) Must have something to do with access rights. slic3r is alsoby to3dornottobe - Controllers
That was a time where you could record games from FM radio, at least in our country.. Try to explain that in a few years. That and needle pressure.. Thanks for the tip.. Too bad it's needed though. I guess makerbase will take care of this rather sooner than later.by to3dornottobe - Controllers
LOL! A 3C905C indeed. That means your past mid 20's too! Sourced it from an old server i used to run, but with the cloud it's obsolete.. Thanks! i'll try to recover the parts this evening!by to3dornottobe - Controllers
I agree that a machine should be aware of its maximum X/Y/Z travel, and require a homing sequence before anything else. Although you can work around/with it; in slic3r for example you can also set these limits. From my CNC machining experience, i'd say it's mandatory for a machine to know its x/y/z limit. On my CNC it just slows down when i reaches its limits. (it's using and edingcnc usbcnc conby to3dornottobe - Controllers
Yep, that V2 board. Lets hope some nice stepper drivers are used on that. I do like the DRV8825 over the A4988, as well as the way lower price of this unit, but there are better drivers available. To be honest, this LAN thingy is in contrast with the rest of the board, which is perfect! placement is top-notch (except for the crystal) the used power fets, heatsink, it's too good to be true, for tby to3dornottobe - Controllers
Board has arrived, Looks very decent. Trying to get the LAN to work, doesn't seem to be as friendly as planned. The board hangs as soon as I enable the LAN port. Somethings wrong with it. Too bad. Lets hope the seller is willing to help me out. Another 3 weeks of waiting down the drain due to lack of QC in china. Upon closer inspection, i'm pretty confident that the components currently used foby to3dornottobe - Controllers
It's quite somehting you discovered this in the 1st place! What capacitors should be added to c52 and c53? I'm still waiting for my board to arrive, and i'm also an intense user of the ethernet port.. Did you give octofab a try on this board yet?by to3dornottobe - Controllers
V1.2 indeed. Configuration is al set in a single file, active after an upload/reboot. Just go through the smoothieware wiki (and donate if you find help there) What issues with the ramps 1.4 are you talking about?by to3dornottobe - Controllers
Have you tried hooking it up to your laptop directly? Perhaps a wireshark tells you what's going on. It's most likely calling back to China, to inform the Chinese government about your 3d printing behaviour, or it's a proxy for the Chinese internet.. Either that, or it's google gathering big data. Better start folding that tin foil hat..by to3dornottobe - Controllers
Might be the webservice is messing it up? did you tried deleting the index.html and see if it's pingable then? BTW! have you seen octofab? (octopi for the smoothie!) NICE!!by to3dornottobe - Controllers
