Wouldn't bolting something like this directly to the effector be better, then the width can be in the printed part and a self tapping bolt to hold these on. It would also be nice to see a version of this that an e3d hot end would fit, as it looks like quickset nozzle replacements could be an issue.by DADIY - Fisher
Perhaps Ian ( ex reprap ) might know who originally manufactured them for RRP. Then we could approach them for a batch.by DADIY - Ormerod
Odd, I'm using Slic3r 1.2.9 and I've attached my config bundle to see if that any better for you.by DADIY - Fisher
The pre created fisher profile for slic3r works pretty well and can be found on git hub here One thing to note is that Slic3r and Cura use different positioning by default, once is absolute whilst the other is relative, if you use the wrong one it goes really really slow. I assume for your cura profile that your not controlling tools or temperature etc.by DADIY - Fisher
Excellent! - I too had to print one of those as well. I really love how you can print something that cannot be assembled and moves straight off the printer.by DADIY - Fisher
That's handy. But It's a good reminder for everyone to print some spares as soon as they can. Tonight I was trying to get cura working (again) and it seems to be starting at z0 so the extruder can't get any filament out, In the few seconds before I stopped it I managed to block the nozzle and break the filament halfway down the Bowden tube. So tomorrow's job is to remove the tube from theby DADIY - Fisher
You need to build a jig to hold them all the same length. Dry assemble the first one and tweak the carbon fibre length until it fits over the jig ok. A little wiggle room is ok as the glue will fix that and the jig holds everything to the same length while it dries. If the rods too long the jig won't allow you to slide the arm over so at least at that point you can tweak it nby DADIY - Fisher
Assuming that you drilled your holes nice and square and left the arms on untill the glue set they should all be the same length. You could use an existing arm to check the jig.by DADIY - Fisher
When I made mine I got a piece of wood ( 2x4 ) and two 5.5mm drill bits. I marked two dot 160mm apart and drilled each with a 5.5mm drill. Then into each hole I slid the smooth shaft end of the 5.5mm drill bit. I used the mugen track ends. As I glued each rod with epoxy I slid the arm down the drill bits which held them apart at the right distance. I then layered grease proof paper between eaby DADIY - Fisher
Last night 's print, this is the Fibonacci Vase from thingiverse. Coffee to give a sense of scale.by DADIY - Fisher
I put a couple of cable ties around the bowden tube and the electric to hold them together, it seems to help reduce the bowden tube catching and getting sandwich between the carriage and the limit switches during a home operation. I upgraded my machine to a Fisher XT so I have an even longer ~600mm bowden tube and the friction hasn't been an issue. If anything over tightening the heat-sink oby DADIY - Fisher
I think the biggest issue for spares (assuming you print a parts kit) is going to be the nozzles and the 19v fan. The motors, duet, hobbed insert, bowden tube and ends are available online although I did notice some stores are selling reprappro parts (you can tell by the bags) so they might not have stock long. Currently reprappro.com.cn doesn't have much stock advertised. You can browse theiby DADIY - Fisher
Have you tried reducing the print temperature. It looks like you might be printing a bit too hot for your filament. There's an interesting guide at simplify3d for diagnosing common issues and their causes. Its available here - simplify3d.com/support/print-quality-troubleshooting/ If your using Slic3r did you download the precreated profile or create your own? - the official one is here -by DADIY - Fisher
I'll be steering clear of this then until I find a source of new nozzles and the brass tapered nut. Thanks for letting me know.by DADIY - Fisher
You might be right about the fractured sheets as the arms I removed that were not broken had lots of stress like cracks in them, and even the ones I made by hand from the scrap acrylic around the arms also broke. Overall I am very happy with the Fisher kit, its performing way better than I expected for the price. Its just a shame reprappro is closing as it means finding spares could be trickyby DADIY - Fisher
The acrylic arms were useless, they should never have been supplied as they were not fit for purpose. But then if you had plans to close the company perhaps you wouldn't care. The 19v fan is another item that seems irreplaceable without bulk buying ☹by DADIY - Fisher

Reprap.org as a domain expires early 2020. But who's to say that Adrian will keep on paying for hosting etc. It's not like he's made any announcements. And he did start selling a new printer design right up to closing the company.by DADIY - Ormerod
I'm mirroring reprap.org too. Just in case. Lol.by DADIY - Ormerod
Good question, the domain reprap.org is owned by Adrian Bowyer who ran reprap pro. Perhaps someone could tweet him and ask. Reprappro are currently ignoring my tweets.by DADIY - Ormerod
Now that rep rap pro are no more seems a good idea for everyone's next prints be a spares kit for their own printer. I suppose we now need to be self sufficient now.by DADIY - Fisher
I'd already kept some instructions but mirrored the site just in case. Will probably do the git hub too. I'm hoping that the stuff they had in development like dual extruder for the fisher get released as is too.by DADIY - Ormerod
You can use wget to download the entire site. It's about 800mb, Might also be worth grabbing a copy of their GitHub in case that disappears.by DADIY - Ormerod
That should work. On mine the yellow cable was positive, but I'd check yours with a meter before you change yours just in case.by DADIY - Fisher
Came across this uk supplier today that carries a lot of the cool filaments. Not sure if they are the cheapest but it's uk stock. They also have free samples you can add to orders. [3dfilaprint.com]by DADIY - Fisher
Sketch up with the stl plugin is good or auto desk 123d design which handles fillets better are both free and well respected.by DADIY - Ormerod

I believe so. You should be fine printing carbon fibre. I know it's in my future plans.by DADIY - Fisher
