i was just about to order your RAMPS kits and heated build platform from ebay, and did a quick google search to check how they were. this is great feedback, and now i'm going to wait until those cable sets are up in a few days so i can snag some of them too! thanks!by peter_ - Reprappers

I'm really liking these ideas, and it's great to have so many knowledgable folks interested! The IR-sintering with black ink printed onto a white surface sounds really interesting... any thoughts on where one might obtain a suitable lamp? the powder printer itself would likely have to be built out of something that could withstand some heat, like aluminum or such, which would limit it's abilityby peter_ - Powder Printing and Selective Laser Sintering
Hi folks, I thought I'd make a workthread for interesting information related to the SLS powder printer that I've been describing in a few posts to the builder's blog recently -- the forum post is probably a bit better way to communciate, rather than the comment system on the blog. Here's the latest link: selective laser sintering printer: part 4 (putting it all together) -- first tests buby peter_ - Powder Printing and Selective Laser Sintering
Hi folks, Sorry for not posting this sooner -- I had a request yesterday, and while I think I had intended to clean up the code, here it is anyway! This is version 3b, which adds some effects that make it appear as though the object is being printed (that is, the alpha of each line is adjusted based on its position in the gcode file, and not based on its Z height as in 2a). The code also triesby peter_ - RepRap Host
following on that line of thought -- i have no experience casting things, but a bit printing them -- would it be possible to /print/ some moulds, then fill them full of resin? at least for the very large pieces it might be a way to bootstrap things a bit more quickly?by peter_ - For Sale
Hi Arvin, I'll also reply publically --- Hi Arvin, Sorry for my late reply! As a grad student, things are a little crazy sometimes. I was also thinking that standalone would be best for the start. It would also be neat to better colour-code the toolpaths as Skeinforge's SkeinView does, although I'm not entirely sure if the information required to derive this is available in the gcode?by peter_ - RepRap Host
Hi all, This is a workthread for discussing the gcode visualization tool I wrote for visualizing the toolpath of a reprap/makerbot, as I recently posted in the builders blog ( http://builders.reprap.org/2009/09/reprapmakerbot-gcode-visualzation-from.html ). It seems like there's been a great deal of interest in the tool, so I posted the code and already people have been making improvements! Tby peter_ - RepRap Host
