Certainly add to your list of 3D printers. It is a kit, as easily built as the Makerbots'. The Ultimaker has a huge advantage being its speed. When printing with more detail, twice higher resolution will double your print time. The Ultimaker allows for more detail within a reasonable print-time. Regards, Johanby blokkendoos - Reprappers

Richard, your post is a while ago but, did you manage to get successful extrusion in the end? I recently finished the BfB v2.0.1 RR and, for quite some time, struggling on extrusion as well. regards, Johan [1m93.blogspot.com]by blokkendoos - Plastic Extruder Working Group

Java 6 is not mandatory anymore. On an Intel iMac with OS X 10.4.11 I successfully compiled the Java Hoby blokkendoos - RepRap Host

I did get the Java Host partially running on OS X 10.4.11. That is I can use the XYZ console. Printing results in a Java Error (also logged in the SW forum here ) Some details on how I compiled the latest SVN version using NetBeans: [1m93.blogspot.com] Right now I use Skeinforge and ReplicatorG as well. The latter GUI is a bit ugly, but it does the job. Regards, Johanby blokkendoos - RepRap Host
Got the Java Host running on OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) by compiling the most recent source code with NetBeans 6.1 For details, see my RR blog here: [1m93.blogspot.com] Regards, Johanby blokkendoos - RepRap Host
Put these lines in parameters.h to fix the compile errors (due to undefined byte type) // from // and typedef uint8_t byte; And now the Gcode_interpreter compiles ok.by blokkendoos - RepRap Host
Same here on Intel iMac running OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Tried to run the Java Host with Java 1.5 and 1.6 (using Soylatte16) as well but both result in the same errormsg. For the same, the Arduino host software works ok and, to my knowledge, is also Java based and uses the RXTX java class. Tried various settings of the CLASSPATH and PATH but no sucess. My findings on this issue up to today: 1. compiling the most recent Arduino host (svn #547) doesn't solve the errors 2. changing the heater_ (low, high, current) type from byte to int, and modify the code accordingly, solves the msgs but one: void extruder::manage() 3. the svn Sanguino GCode_Interpreter.old-version does compile! Robert, When trying today the latest GCode (SVN rev# 2295) the Arduino devtool gives me following messages (after verify/compile): In member function 'void extruder::wait_for_temperature()': In member function 'void extruder::valve_set(bool, int)': In member function 'void extruder::set_direction(bool)': At global scope: In member function 'int extruder::get_temperature()': At global scopeby blokkendoos - RepRap Host
