Hello there!! Just received my heated bed and tried to print the classic wade's gear! As you see here it's quite decent but I still have to buy a glass to put on top of the bed and calibrate better the z axis... Thanks again for all the help!!!by stam - Reprappers
The extrusion is pretty smooth My problem is that the plastic sticks really hard to the bed (kapton tape) and most of the times it fails... I've just ordered a heated bed and a thermistor, so with a little bit of luck, after a couple of days I'll be ready to print!!!by stam - Reprappers
Hello my friends!! I flashed the latest sprinter firmware on my mendel, and I changed the axis step unit line to: #define _AXIS_STEP_PER_UNIT {80, 80, 6720 ,700} and now each axis actually move for the mm it's supposed to move! Here is the first print and the second!!! There was a drama with the cube but it was my fault... My problems now are obviously as you see the wrapping (due to no heatbeby stam - Reprappers
Here are some pictures of my hotend. I removed the whole extruder so it's more clear if there is something wrong... (pics) I did an experiment and tried to print a pulley. Whenever the extruder seemed blocked I paused the print, removed the part and resume the job. Then magically the extruder was ok. So probably the tip was blocked because the z axis isn't elevating enough after printing each laby stam - Reprappers
Hey there! The hotend is at the proper temperature when the extruder stops extruding abs. The hobbed bolt kind of eat in to the filament (photo) but that small bits (here) look suspicious...by stam - Reprappers
Hello fellow reprapers!!! It's been a while since my last post (and try) to make/finish my Mendel. Two years ago I started on trying building one (ForumTopic) and now finally I made it! Some info for my Mendel Firmware: Klimentkip (115200 Baud) Electronics: Arduino Mega 2560 + RAMPS 1.3v + 3 x Pololu A4983 stepper driver + 1 x Stepstick A4983 Extruder: Wade's Geared Extruder (reprap.org/wiki/by stam - Reprappers
*** EDIT *** Having some seconds thoughts about how good will be the parts with the heat that will be created from the motor after a couple of hours of use...by stam - For Sale
Thank you for the fast replies David!!! Just a couple more questions and I think I'll place an order! 1. How long will it take you to make and drill the pieces (days/weeks)?? 2. You will make all the pieces of the photo of the original Mendel I attached you on my previous message? I mean you will include the pieces so I can make eg an extruder, and if yes, which extruder? The classic one or thby stam - For Sale
That's good news! Do you have any other pictures of the parts so I can see them in close??by stam - For Sale
Hello from sunny Greece!! I would like to ask if you still make parts for a mendel and specially the classic mendel (these parts: )... I have started the whole project of building one in Greece, I bought the hardware parts, the motors etc but the printed parts are too expensive... Also is it possible to ship them in Greece?? Thanks in advance and sorry for all these questions! Cheers Johnby stam - For Sale
Hello fellow reprapers!!! >< Finally I have almost everything here except the mendel parts Now some of my problems if anyone knows a possible solution to help me... First of all my setup will be one Arduino Duemilanove (328P), 4 Pololu Stepper Driver Boards, 3 OptoEndStop Boards and one Temperature Board (just a resistor and a capacitor basically). I've succesfully tried the optoendstoby stam - Reprappers
Hello Gary! I also had a huge problem on finding H21LOB in stock in a shop here, or even on ebay... Then I decided to buy H21A1 which is almost the same (I don't really know all the technical details to explain it ) and I could found it on ebay from a uk seller for about 1€ each (or cheaper, or somewhere there!). The main difference is that the H21A1 has 4 pins instead of 5 pins, so just follby stam - Wanted
Hello there! It's been a while since my last post. I was trying to save up some money and I finally have ordered everything!!! The next week I hope all the shipments to be delivered to my place... The plan is to build a wolfstrap and then slowly slowly print the parts for a mendel! My only problem is that I run out of money and I don't have any pulleys. So I might try first to do the bar/sby stam - Reprappers
Thanks for the photo Wolfgang! Now I am sure I will remember the axis correctly!! Cheers from Greece! Johnby stam - Reprappers
Hello Jonathan! I tried to find the Seeeduino Mega @ nkc electronics, but then I realized that they ship from the states so shipping to Greece will include customs costs etc and it will be too expensive... (Seeduino Mega) I was thinking ordering from here, which is about $32,66 and the shipping to Greece is really cheap because they have their company located in uk... Do you have any problemsby stam - Sanguino(lolu)
Thank you so much hophead!!! You are really helpful!!! Johnby stam - Controllers
You are right Bob! I was confused with the axis! Johnby stam - Reprappers
Ok, I got that! I'll use the switches for X and Y and I'll make two opto switch boards for the Z axis! Still, I can't figure out how the 4 pin opto switch is connected to the board. On the schematic here I can't find the trace that is marked 'A' and the holes marked 'B' so I can make the whole circuit on a stripboard Could anyone attach a schematic or a link with the 4 pin version? Thanksby stam - Controllers
That's really good news Markus! It's ok with the pictures, as long as you don't have any problems, probably your wolfstrap looks like the one on the wiki!! I'm a bit jealous! When I order all the parts, I'll have them delivered in my parents house, because where I live some of the parcel might be lost I'll be there at 15/7 and start the whole project! You will have threaded rod for Y and beby stam - Reprappers
Hey, thanks for the fast reply! That really good news for me, because the price of the dfrduino is really good compared to an arduino mega! I'll start with my duemilanove to test the motor etc and then I'll order a dfrduino! Have a great day! Johnby stam - Sanguino(lolu)
I'm also thinking on buying a DFRduino Mega instead of an arduino mega. Basically they seem identical... Have you bought one or you just purchased an arduino mega to be sure? Cheers from Greece, Johnby stam - Sanguino(lolu)
Traumflug Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > anyways, the table now moves > by touch of a single finger easily. Those are good news!! Do you have uploaded any pictures on flickr or somewhere else so we can ourselves?? I am just finishing all the searching about everything and probably till Friday I'll order everything!! Did all the sizes of the wooden partby stam - Reprappers
Oh, those are much cheaper then!>< I'll order then some of those to try them too, but how do you connect them to the boards? They seem to have only 3 pins Johnby stam - Controllers
I sent you an email a couple of days ago, I was interested about the three opto endstops but I'll try to do them by my own on a stripboard! Cheers from Greece, Johnby stam - For Sale
Thanks for the fast reply nophead! Now I can understand the difference between the two version of the optoswitches depending from how many pins they have! I checked your version with the micro switches but the ones same as your are priced 9€ or £7,42 which is extremely high but nevertheless looks really good and must works good!! I'll try my luck with the 4 pin version opto switch eventhoughby stam - Controllers
Hello there! I'm in the final research stage before ordering everything for my mendel!>< I thought that I could save up some money by doing the optoendstop circuits by myself on a stripboard etc. The schematic is pretty simple and the components are simple too. But I have a problem finding H21LOI or H21LOB. Basically I'm looking on ebay for European sellers (to save up from shipping coby stam - Controllers
Hello Sebastien! I didn't know that the main page was translated in Greek! Tomorrow I'll drop a message to AlexCY to see if he has a fully worked printer etc! It would be great if you could create a new rug for the Greek reprapers! I don't know how many we are, probably not many , but I believe it might/will help the future reprapers to have a reference point! Have a great day, Johnby stam - Reprappers
Thanks Jonathan for that! I couldn't really understand the differences between those two extruders! Now I'm gonna read that topic and I'll try to find out! The forum and the wiki are huge that I'm lost, everyday I discover new and important topics/pages! Cheers from Greece, Johnby stam - Reprappers
Thanks for that link Markus! I wasn't aware of that topic! Some seriously effort is being done there on the wolfstrap to run on belts! I read the topic (with the help of google translate of course!) and fellow repraper Stoffel15 mentions that it took him 26 hours to print just one frame-vertex!! (he used a M5 threaded rod) In fact I did a bit of reading and one of the main differences betweeby stam - Reprappers
Hello Brian! I'm still in the searching phase but if you don't mind I'd like to ask you a couple of questions about your parts! Here in the wiki the heater barrel seems to be 32mm long. In the picture you attached previously here the N-RR2 looks about that length, but the HB-MB2 looks quite long and with the nozzle will be quite big. What is really the actual sizes of those two heater barrels?by stam - For Sale
