That's a bummer about the BLTouch being closed source, I wasn't aware. I decided it would be easier go with an IR based solution so I ordered the differential IR sensor from Fillastruder - probably what I should have done in the first place... I'm not super excited about having to tear my PEI off of the glass and paint it.. I wonder if I can get away with painting the underside of the glass?by darkstargtk - Controllers
I'm just finishing up printing brackets for a BLTouch sensor I received. I've been reading through the forum and found a few instances of people considering this sensor. Has anyone had any luck getting it to work on dc42's firmware? It looks like the sensor has a regular 3-pin servo connector as well as a simple two wire switch. Should I be using the Z-probe connector on the duet or the E0 enby darkstargtk - Controllers
James, Yes - the distance was almost exactly 8mm (7.6ish). The link you sourced is the exact item I bought - I figured it might be a good (not too expensive) first printer to learn the ropes on. Well you hit the nail on the head with the lead screw and the coupler. I found that the left lead screw got hung up on one of the small set screws in the coupler and did not fully seat to the bottomby darkstargtk - Printing
Hello All, I just finished assembling my first printer, so far everything has worked out well - except for one small issue. I have some sort of oscillating wave as the printer climbs higher up the Z-axis. I bought the HICTOP kit from Amazon and I've read a little bit about the Marlin firmware for Z-axis troubles but I'm not sure that's the issue? I've got lead screws instead of the threaded rby darkstargtk - Printing
