I have put some time into sorting out the pinouts of the connectors of the RepRapDiscount Full Graphic Smart Controller LCD panel. This lcd panel is called 'reprap_discount_glcd' for the 'panel.lcd' option in the config.txt file. I had one laying around and did not want to buy the AZSMZ mini lcd controller yet. The pint outs of the reprap_discount_glcd are not compatible with the AZSMZ mini boarby 3DFreezeMe - Controllers
I use cheap waste-bin clear plastic bags as shroud/hood to keep the warmth inside and the draught outside. Let's hope the newer v1.2 will fix your issues! To get back on topic, I found the fix for the issues on the openjscad.org website on the Youmagine SmartFriendz SmartrapCore discussion page. The fix was posted by tseglevskiy: If you have error like this return this.color.join("/"); TypeEby 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
I currently print on a Delta type KosselXL printer with around 250mm diameter bed size (300mm z-height). The borosilicate glass bed is covered with a PEI sheet on which I print the ABS directly, without any extra adhesives like PVA stick or hairspray. For this SmartrapCore build, I have choosen for ABS because I want to make an enclosed printer with a heated chamber. So I need the ABS with itsby 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
@smerrett79 I have made a second attempt on printing this piece sideways and succeeded. I now have used the grid type support (which is default btw), i.s.o. the line type and the floating parts above the split stayed put. See my settings in the screenshot. I bumped up the overhang from default 60% to 85% so there is the least amount of support in the circles, where it does not need it really.by 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
You are correct mike3, I am aware of the better part strength when printed on their side. But the slide_y parts itself do not have any break away support? You must have used support which was generated by your slicer. My attempt printing them on their side, I have used support type 'lines' in Cura. But when the top parts of the splitted rod part started printing they became loose before the bridby 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
You will soon try, fail and learn... We all have had to deal with this.by 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
That is one of my concerns exactly. I have printed them in ABS, but have not build the printer yet and tried their strength.by 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
I have read somewhere that people who tried that, had issues with the two split parts where the rods are fastened. I believe that is why smerrett79 did ask that question.by 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
I already have printed those and have used Meshmixer to create custom support where needed (the open circles print ok without support). Orientation and support like the picture shows:by 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
Thank you MichaelBrock! The OpenJSCAD version that Youmagine is using (v0.017) still works ok with the latest 1.2.x versions. On the http://openjscad.org/ site, the current version is v0.3.0, which is not rendering the exact same smartrapcore-v1.2.jscad files anymore and results in the error I mentioned above. I was now able to render al views and download the stl's, in the configuration I wantby 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
Is anyone able to get the v1.2.x versions working ok on the openjscad.org site? I get errors when rendering most of the different views when selecting them in the 'what to show' dropdown menu. I have been addded to the group also. Currently I am preparing a closed box version of the Smartcore.by 3DFreezeMe - Smart_Rap
Quotewbrokow1 I purchased the AZSMZ LCD board and found out it is NOT the same pinouts as the reprap discount smart controller (small or large) The connectors are both 10 pin but the pinout pattern is not the same. I am going through the painful process of matching the pins from the AZSMZ lcd to the reprap's pins. So far I have the backlight working. Do you use retraction? With my Delta, I also had issues with the nozzle hitting previous layers and then shifting the print. Changing retraction settings reduced this behaviour. I use Cura for slicing and have setup retraction as follows: Minimum travel (mm): 2 or 3 (depending on the small details in the print) Enable combing: off Minimal extrusion before retracting (mm): 0 Z hop when retractiby 3DFreezeMe - Delta Machines
