Hi all,
Our print freezes each time at exactly the same line of gcode after a request resend.
The setup:
- Mendel v2
- Gen3 with Pololu A4988 extruder driver
- FiveD firmware (2010 08 06)
- Slic3r 0.7.1
- RepG 34
We know both Gen3 and FiveD are depreciated, but for us this combination works fine most of the time with surprising good print quality.
So we really want to fix this annoying problem

Ok.. the hysteresis hasn't got the desired result..
When switching ON again, current temp dropped below taget temp,
the MOSFET is turned ON/OFF 3 times before it remains ON and that's what I'd like to eliminate,
because this is quite hazardous for the lifetime of the mechanical relay.
I think decreasing the temperature sampling frequention could fix this or is there maybe another fix?

Awesome mindfab!
Both temperature readings now get visualized in the control panel, thanks!
The next prob is that both heaters apply ON/OFF or BANG_BANG control, for the bed this is desired
although I'd like to implement some kind of hysteresis (going 5°C below set temperature before switching ON again)
because now the relay switches multiple times when switching ON/OFF and I don't think the co

Yea a SSR (Solid State Relay) would have been better, but with ON/OFF control this relay should last at least 1 or 2 years..
But Traumflug, do you see a possibility to implement some kind of hysteresis in the ON/OFF control for the bed?
Lets say remain ON until set temperature, switch OFF and remain OFF until set temperature minus 5°C.

Yup it does work, but it would work better with some kind of hysteresis,
cause now the relay switches multiple times when switching ON/OFF and I don't think the coil from the relay really likes this...
But what I find strange is that both extruder and the bed heater get BANG_BANG control and nowhere in the config from the Motherboard ( MB ) nor the config from the Extruder Controller ( EC ) is BA

Alright, thanks mindfab!
With an older (2010) FiveD firmware I now get both extruder and bed temperature readings from your RepG 34 Beta,
but with the latest Teacup firmware configured for my Gen3 electronics I only get the extruder temp,
the bed temp remains 0°C.. And I do get both temperature readings with Pronterface,
so Teacup is reporting both, but RepG doesn't monitor them.

I don't think I've got a compiled version, just dowloaded the zip from github (RobertFach / ReplicatorG)
unpacked it and went digging for an executable, which I found in build > windows > dist
but with the mentioned error when I tried to run the ReplicatorG.exe

I've encountered the same temperature problem with RepG 34, so I've downloaded the entire zip from RobertFach's Github.
I am not familiar with Github, but when I try to run the ReplicatorG.exe from build > windows > dist, I get this error:
Could not find the main class: replicatorg.app.Base
Any idea what's the issue? (Sorry if it's a stupid question)

Okay, the include fixed the memory_barrier issue properly.
And like rhmorrison mentioned, we've implemented a second thermistor terminal on the AI06
and we're switching a relay with the A+/A- MOSFET which feeds our aluminum bed with 230V AC and 1Amp, so 230W of heating power!
I also found out that it isn't Teacup, but RepG where the issue is located, cause in Pronterface both extruder and bed

Hey Traumflug,
I've put the latest Teacup on our Gen3 electronics and after inverting the X/Y/Z enable pins the movements work nicely.
I had 3 compiling errors due to the undefined MEMORY_BARRIER in the intercom.c from Teacup_firmware.pde with config.h for Gen3.
o: In function `__vector_29':
intercom.c:261: undefined reference to `MEMORY_BARRIER'
o: In function `__vector_30':

Hi all,
we have a first generation Mendel with Gen3 electronics (from Makerbot = Motherboard v1.2 and Extruder controller v2.2)
which we're upgrading with a improved extruder assembly and a heated build platform (HBP).
And it's with the HBP that we're having some difficulties,
we plan to control a relay with one of the unused MOSFET's on the Extruder controller to provide the power resistors f

Okay James, thanks!
In that case I'm thinking about putting 9 of them in a 3 by 3 matrix and feeding them with a 12V DC,
this would mean that there's 4V acros and 4 Amps going true each of them,
which makes 16W per resistor and a total power of 144W.
Shouldn't this be enough to reach 120°C for ABS, with a reasoable warmup time?
I did a small thermodynamic calc:
E = m * C * (T2-T1)
m =

Hi Camiel or James,
I'll be coming over next saturday to pick up My Order # 100000714, but is it still possible to tweak my order slightly?
I ordered the ' Alu printbed for Mendel - pre-drilled ' but I like to change this to the ' Alu printbed for Mendel - no cut-out '.
And one more question about the ' Set of 4 Heater blocks 4x 1.0 Ohm ' : What's the rated power from these resistors?
Grtz,

Hi Camiel,
I've sent you a PM, but probably your inbox here is also flooded, so you'll read it faster here.
I wanted to ask for an appointment next saturday 1 Oct related to my order # 100000714
and whether or not I could pay you by cash for the parts?
I'm from Belgium, so it's just an hour driving, but could you also PM me the exact address plz?
Grtz
