I think your biggest problem will be to "build" a plate that is "flat" enough for the first layer. Getting a plate within 1mm over a one meter distance will be a real challenge. If your plate is not perfectly flat, leveling won't do much good.by billober33974 - General
Make sure that the com#'s match in the computer device manager and the host. (example com1 in the host and com1 in the device manager. Also get the com# to be either 1, 2, or 3. Even though I had both the computer and the host matched to com5, it wouldn't work. I am using Repetier firmware. I couldn't get Marlin to work. I also had to set the baud rate to 115200by billober33974 - General
I am having the same problem. I can get the board to work with Repetier firmware, but not with Marlin. It's not the end stop settings. My LCD puts up a message if the end stop is triggered and I'm not getting a message.by billober33974 - General

Does the file load into the host? You should be able to see the gcode in the Preview/gcode editor. If you can't see the gcode in the editor, you didn't load the file. Is the connect icon green?by billober33974 - General
Here is the file that I sent to you. It is attached as "Test.gcode" ; GCode generated by CraftWare g92 x0 y0 z.1 ;This line sets the x axis to 0, the y axis to 0, and the z axis to .1 G21 ; mm ; This line sets the machine to mm G90 ; abs ; This line sets the machine to move in absolute (vs incrimental) G92 E0 ; reset extr ;This line resets the extruder g0 x10 ; This line will moby billober33974 - General
The printer doesn't read the *.stl files. You need to run the .stl file through a slicer program which will generate a gcode file. You load the gcode file and run it to make the machine do what it does. I will send a small gcode file for you to try. It will determine if the machine is working or not.by billober33974 - General
You can reverse the direction of the motor by reversing the leads. Make sure the motors are going in the correct direction when you run them manually.by billober33974 - General
Is the big chip on the board a ATmega2560?by billober33974 - General
It would probably be best if you ran the two z axis motors in series. If you bought this as a kit, the firmware may already be loaded. Try using the Repetier firmware. They have an online editor that is easy to use. I use the Repetier Host and Craftware slicer. What type of pc board do you have? Here is a link for installing the driver.by billober33974 - General
If you are having problems with the board, rather than trying to find an exact replacement just replace it with a "ramps 1.4". They are cheap and there is plenty of support.by billober33974 - General
Take a look at Repetier firmware. They have an online "configuration.h" editor which is very easy to use. If you down load their default settings, it will run your board. I use Repetier Host and Craftware slicer.by billober33974 - General
I found that the tape works best when the bed is unheated. I am using plain masking tape. My bed temp to day is 24 c. I have been printing all day today with no problem using tape with no heat. Using PLA with hot end at 220 c. The filament sticks better if the bed is unheated. You may have to heat the bed a little if you live in a cold climate. You don't need to go above 25 c.by billober33974 - General
I suspect that you have the wiring going to the motor wrong. If you look at the connector going to the extruder motor, you will notice that the connector is a 6 pin connector. However, the driver only uses 4 pins. Pins 2 & 5 are not used. The connector going to the extruder has a wire in pin 1-3-4-6. On your axis motor, you have wires going to pins 1-2-3-4. If you paid for an item using PayPal, you should file a complaint with them stating that the item you received was not as advertised. Also you can find out what credit card account they are using to guarantee the account. I recommend a kit. By the time you shop around for all of the parts, You will spend more on gas and postage than you will save by buying one piece at a time. I recently bought A Worldnet A602 on ebay. ($430 including shipping). (It may be cheaper on Alibaba). Even though it is from china, I received it in less than two weeks. It is a complete kit including most of the tools required to assemby billober33974 - General

Quotedarac_komarac now i have problems with extruder.... it seem that the gear is hobbing the filament whitch results in stoping the extruzionleaving gaps in print. i tried everything i could ( cleaning the nozzle, c leaning the hotend, cleaning the extruder gear from hobbed filament, changing the temperature of hotend, tightening the gears vs extruder....). i even replaced the extruder...... nby billober33974 - General

After I screwed up my firmware, I tried marlin with not much luck getting back to a working printer. I tried "repetier firmware" and had it back up in no time. I used the firmware configuration tool. Here is a model of a frame and axis that I had in mind when I made the above posting. I am using 4 motors on the table. By adding a toggle switch in series to the z limit switch circuit I can deactivate the z axis. I can then run the leveling routine and adjust the motors independently to level the table. This eliminates the need for any leveling hardware, springs, etc.by billober33974 - General
