HI Nophead, After some more testing, I have found that it is the X-axis that is consistantly 1mm short. When I print 10mm hollow cube, one side is 9mm the other is 10. When I print the 40mm cube, one side is 39mm the other is 40mm. I will try and adjust my stepper pots to make sure I'm not skipping steps on the x. Thanks, Arasby arasb - General Mendel Topics
Hi, I am noticing that my final prints are longer in the Y direction than in the X. When I print a circle, it's oblong, and pretty noticable. I have checked my steps/mm in the firmware and other places that might affect a difference in x and y, but the settings are identical for both X and Y. What could be causing this in all of my prints? Thanks, Arasby arasb - General Mendel Topics
Hi Richrap, Thanks for your reply. I am using PLA. I was able to get slightly better prints with less noticable blobs. This was achived by changing the E_STEPS_PER_MM in the firmware from 40 to 32. Since I have a 1/16 stepping Pololu stepper controller, this is a much higher number than the standard 1/2 stepping controllers. This helped by putting down a little less PLA in general. Some pics of the globs. On Venus, one side looks ok, but the other has these blobs where it starts the infill at the shell and sits there and extrudes before moving. The Hand has more of these because I increased the amount of infill compared to venus. It seems that changes in the preferences are not affecting the persistence of the blobs. I can PM the links to the gcodes if it helps. Thanby arasb - General Mendel Topics

Hi Bob, I turned on the Debug last night and saw no temperatures being transmitted in the command prompt window. I am using reprap to generate the gcode and I get neither the layer progress nor the gcode transmission progress displayed. Nothing is being displayed in the progress bar or any indication of progress during any use of the reprap host. I'm thinking the two displays may be related. Atby arasb - RepRap Host
Hi, I'm using 64 bit Reprap version 0719 with Java 6 update 22 on Windows 7 Home 64 bit. Also using a pololu board and an external thermouple board. My temps are not being displayed on the host software, it just shows 000. I did verify that the thermocouple is working accurately and communicating with all boards. I am able to print and the extruder is maintaining whatever temp it set in the hby arasb - RepRap Host
Hi, I recently got a Mendel and got it running the other day. I've been adjusting the settings to get my print cleaner, but can't seem to change the delay of when the etruder starts extruding before the extruder starts moving. I am getting these blobs of plastic around the piece that look like warts on the outside of the finished piece because of this. It prints the shell, then starts on theby arasb - General Mendel Topics
