I just replaced my arduino/RAMPS setup because something recently caused a short and my USB cable melted (literally), frying the electronics and the cable. I replaced electronics and checked the wiring from the power supply. I connected the USB to the Arduino and uploaded the Marlin firmware as before, but as soon as I plugged in the A/C power, the cable got hot instantly and I unplugged it allby zkent - Prusa i3 and variants
I was trying to set up an arduino/RAMPS set. Its late and I was probably moving to quickly. I connected the power block to the RAMPS board and plugged it in. I saw a quick poof of white smoke come up from the resistor (if that is what it is) that is between the two vertical, flat objects and the stepper drivers. I unplugged and investigated and discovered that I had put the power block in upsiby zkent - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks. I am not planning on replacing the endstop so I need a new cable. The endstops that came with the kit are the makerbot endstop (a small read circuit board with switch and connector installed) so the cables wouldn't match up anyway. This is an additional stop for an auto-leveling arm I am adding. I thought maybe there was a cable I could purchase but I don't mind buying the parts and leby zkent - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
I am following this video series to add auto-leveling to my Prusa i3. I have printed the parts I need and have the servo and ss-5 endstop in my cart at Amazon. What I need to know is what wiring I need to connect the endstop to the RAMPs board? I bought this printer as a kit and all parts were included so I am learning slowly. The switch Thanks!by zkent - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
