Coming as a shock to probably no one, that fixed the issue- thank you.by Tennysballs - Duet
Quotedc42 As described at you need to add parameter I1 (that's letter-i followed by digit-1) to your M558 command, assuming you are not using very old firmware. That may be where I got confused. For some reason, any time I tried that I used the pipe ' | ' character instead of capital I. I will try that and report back. Thank youby Tennysballs - Duet
So I am using an NPN NO Inductive sensor as my z probe for my delta build. I've tried everything I can find on the topic but it always reads 1000 when out of range of the bed and 0 after it reaches sensor distance- I cannot get to invert. Per documentation I have it connected- output > BAT43 diode > E0 STP, ground of sensor to E0 GND, and Vin to Vin. Actual extruder is connected to E1 motorby Tennysballs - Duet
I don't know why you'd assume I'm being impatient. I've been working on this project for about four months now. It's been a discouraging process.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Yeah I didn't really get why either. But it works now. No more response issues. I'm about burnt out though. It's all calibrated at all the towers but the nozzle still digs into the kapton tape at the same spot that it used to. Not sure if it's the frame that it's mounted to or my print bed. Either way I'm about out of juice on this project.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Haven't had the time to work on it. So I ordered the DV8825s over the weekend and just finished installing and tuning them according the the formula given on the reprap wiki page. I left my same jumper configuration on the board(which would make it 1/32 steps) and doubled my steps per unit accordingly. It seems to have done the trick. I'll report again when Iby Tennysballs - Delta Machines
So just some points to clarify. -Got rid of all backlash/free play in the system -Spectra line is guitar-string tight -I can confirm that there is definitely a problem with the whole .1mm thing. No movement every other click with the exception of the 11th click -I did more digging and it seems that he was using 16th stepping. He used 8th steps for a mixing extruder, hence my confusion.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Guess so. Either way I'm still stuck on my responsiveness issue.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
18mm diameter spools with spectra line. 16th steps.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
55.5 seems to be the correct one. But it is also the one where I'm having the inconsistent response from pronterface. So I'm not sure what to do from there. Could have something to do with some other firmware parameters? Acceleration or feed rate? I know nothing is loose because the problem follows a consistent pattern that I previously outlined.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
So I do indeed have the .1ohm resistors. I re-tuned everything it's still doing the same thing as before......Just a little louder. Since the problem was persisting, I jumped into the firmware(Marlin) to look around. I'm using 16th steps. Since I am using Rich's spool design from his 3DR(and his default steps per unit), I double checked to see if maybe he was using a different step rate and ifby Tennysballs - Delta Machines
I assumed that because that's what was in the equation in the reprap wiki. I'll put it through a dry run tomorrow morning, adjust accordingly, and report. Thanks. Oops. That was absent minded. Thanks for pointing that out.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
So this kind of sucks. But in a way it's good because it's something. So I tuned my motors to ~480mv Vref using the following data. Current/phase of motors = 1.5A 70% of 1.5A = 1.2A Vref = I_TripMax * 8 * Rs = 1.2A * 8 * .05ohms =480mv Here is the interesting thing I noticed. The carriage only moved every other time I clicked the .1mm jogger, with the exception of the 11th timby Tennysballs - Delta Machines
That was super helpful. Thank you. I believe I got rid of all the backlash. I'll work on it tonight and report. Thanks again.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
My data sheet doesn't say anything about Max current. Just current per phase. 1.5A. Does that sound right at all? And I'm not sure about the backlash. Maybe I don't understand backlash, but I thought it was only really applicable to gearsby Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Olampe, Yeah that does sound pretty similar to what I am experiencing. Could be an under current issue. When you say decay hack, is that the same thing as the r4 hack? Should I try and tune the pots before I do that? Because from what I have been reading, I can't really find a solid value for what vref should be.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
I have my steppers set 16th steps. Which I kind of arbitrarily chose. Poor choice? I'm having a hard time finding instruction on how to tune the A4988s. Just a lot of discussion. How do I go about that?by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Thanks for the replies. I have not check the bed. I guess I had assumed it was flat. Is that really something I need to do? As far as build related problems, I have tried to be as precise as I could, and the spectra lines are nice and tight. I noticed from a previous design that using the heatbed messes with things way too much, so I haven't even thought of trying it yet. Olaf. I think you miby Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Hey all. So I set out to design and build my own printer a while ago. It's been a long, time-consuming process, and I've been stuck here at the finish line for a while now. I've tried everything I could thing of but for the life of me I can't get the damn thing to print flat. It shows some peculiar behavior while calibrating. Quick list of things that seem relevant before I go into the details.by Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Ha...Ha ha. You're good. That's exactly what it isby Tennysballs - Delta Machines
Need a few parts for a 3dr printed. Preferably all ABS 3x Bottom motor mount 30% infill 2 perimeters ~.25 layer height No raft 3x Electronic mounts 30% infill 2 perimeters ~.25 layer height No raftby Tennysballs - Job Shop: I need stuff made!
Hey everyone! Anyone still watch this page? I'm in Provo. Could use some help printing a few parts for a 3DR. I just got a printer from a kickstarter launch but it doesn't perform anywhere near as well as promised/is to small. Any need a few extra bucks?by Tennysballs - Utah, Salt Lake City RepRap User Group

Hi all! I've been following this thread for a while and decided to start building one. I recently got my first printer- one that recently got to production from kickstarter. I started printing parts and much to my dismay, it doesn't perform anywhere near as well as promised. Besides that, The print area is so small that I have to redesign Rich's parts in Solidworks into smaller interlocking pieceby Tennysballs - Delta Machines
